Prof. Venkatasubramanian

Prof. Venkat Venkatasubramanian, Columbia Univ Prof, expert in risk, AI & complex systems.

Professor Venkat Venkatasubramanian is the Samuel Ruben–Peter G. Viele Professor of Engineering at Columbia University. His pioneering research spans process fault diagnosis, risk management, pharmaceutical engineering, materials discovery, and the study of complex adaptive systems. He developed frameworks for analyzing systemic failures, such as the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the Global Financial Crisis, and for accelerating materials discovery through “Discovery Analytics.” His conceptual framework, statistical teleodynamics, advances understanding of emergent phenomena in markets, biology, and cognition.
