Professor Satya Chakravarthy is a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at IIT Madras and Head of the National Centre for Combustion Research & Development (NCCRD) IIT Madras, the world’s largest combustion research facility. His research spans propulsion, combustion, and electric aircraft, with applications in gas turbines and rocket engines. An innovator and entrepreneur, he is Founder and Technical Lead of The ePlane Company, and Director of several deep-tech startups including Agnikul Cosmos, Aerostrovilos, and X2Fuels & Energy. A thought leader in sustainable aviation and space technology, he has delivered TEDx talks and NPTEL courses on combustion and electric aircraft propulsion.
