Professor Madhura Swaminathan is a distinguished economist and head of the Economic Analysis Unit at the Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore. Holding a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Oxford, she has devoted over 30 years to advancing food security, agriculture, and rural development research. A founding member of Review of Agrarian Studies, she has authored several influential books and served on high-level policy bodies including India’s High-Level Panel on Long-Term Food Security and the UN’s Committee of Development Policy
