Dr. Ashish Lele, Director CSIR-NCL, pioneer in polymers, fluids & sustainable energy.
Dr. Ashish Lele is the Director of CSIR–National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, and a distinguished chemical engineer recognized for his pioneering work in polymers, complex fluids, and sustainable energy technologies. A graduate of ICT Mumbai and Ph.D. from the University of Delaware, he began his career at CSIR–NCL in 1993, establishing a leading research group in rheology and polymer processing. He has authored 75 papers, 6 patents, and supervised 17 Ph.D. theses. Recipient of the Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Award and Infosys Prize, Dr. Lele is a Fellow of INSA, IAS, and INAE, and continues to advance India’s scientific innovation ecosystem.
